Tired of scrolling through social media feeds, watching netflix, and hearing the news? Well, it might be time to feed your mind with stimulating content. In the last 3 months, I have taken to truly enjoying podcasts and learning from each of them. I guess it was the limited conversations and social interactions that made me feel like I was deteriorating somehow. And podcasts were the perfect stimulants to my hungry mind that sought ideas, knowledge, and wisdom.

So, without further ado, I present to you 5 Podcast Episodes I highly recommend for your mind, body, and soul:

  1. Unlocking Us by Brene Brown - On Strong Backs, Soft Fronts, and Wild Hearts

Brene Brown recorded this episode while waiting for the US Election Results in 2020. She introduces us to the idea of strong backs, soft fronts, and wild hearts in our need to relate as human beings. A strong back to hold your head high, navigate with a strong moral and ethical compass, and being clear on who you are. A soft front to welcome compassion, healing, and to build relationships. And finally, a wild heart that allows you to dare.

It’s the perfect episode for anyone who is finding themselves, their voices, and their tribe amid this pandemic.

  2. Ten Percent Happier with Dan Harris - #326: How to Make a Masterpiece | Pete Docter

Have you lost your creative spark? Are you having trouble figuring out if you should just go for something you’ve been wanting to do?

Pete Docter is the creator of Disney Pixar’s latest film, “Soul”. I won’t throw in any spoilers if you haven’t seen it, but in this podcast episode, Pete and Dan talk about the creative process, encountering moments of extreme doubt, major imposter syndrome, and the conviction to be able to tell a story. Just as the movie itself was packed with so much wisdom, so is this episode!

  3. Dare to Lead by Brene Brown - With Adam Grant on The Power of Knowing What You Don’t Know

This entire episode is research heavy and I loved it! Adam Grant, organizational psychology researcher, unpacks his latest data (and his book) in this episode. Together they talk about how much more effective we would be as leaders if we looked at everything with a scientific lens. While many companies like to go for tried and tested methodologies, Adam Grant affirms that it is also good for us to be open to other possibilities. We need to be willing to use other methods, iterate, and see where the data takes us. To be attached to concrete outcomes doesn’t leave us any room to see what else a methodology could reveal. We need to be willing to test our hypotheses and think like scientists.

This episode is perfect for anyone daring to lead in this new era.

  4. Happy Place - Deepak Chopra

It has been a difficult year for all of us. So, how can we deal with stress, pain, and suffering? And how can we do so that our mind and body can heal each other? In this episode, Deepak Chopra unpacks how we are triggered, how we can deal, and ultimately feed the mind, body, and soul amid these circumstances. If you’ve read anything by Deepak, you know that the wisdom he shares is always jampacked.

  5. Super Soul Conversations with Oprah Winfrey - Paulo Coelho, Part 1: What if the Universe conspired in your favor?

I think what truly intrigued me about this episode was how Coelho himself admits that he does not know how many books he has ever published, and neither did he know that “The Alchemist” was going to be an international hit! Everything about this episode is soulful and I admire the way he talks about his life, his work, and his purpose.
